The Stieg Larsson Foundation awards grants and contribution with the purpose of supporting free journalism, work against racism as well as to the support of equal gender rights.
Purpose will be promoted by funding provided for research and education. The Stieg Larsson Foundation also supports victims of domestic violence, racism, xenophobia and discrimination. The foundation preferably provides grants to organizations whose activities support these individuals.
Grants may also be assigned to individuals; students and journalists, who operate at personal risk and/or that of their family’s, highlighting the spirit of The Stieg Larsson foundation.
Grants are not awarded to
For-profit businesses, whether self employed or incorporated.
Applications
- The opportunity to apply is open once a year for a limited period of time.
- Application are to be submitted electronically and registration opens 6 weeks prior to February 28th.
- Applications must be registered no later than 28 February at 23:59.
Information that you’ve been approved for a grant will be sent by regular mail along with payment details. The letter will be sent to the address indicated in the application. Other applicants will be notified by email.
Once approval for funding has been received the recipient must, within one year from the approval, submit a report on maximum 1 A4 page to the Stieg Larsson Foundation. If the report is not filed with the foundation board within a year the grant in its entirety will lapse and no further amount / applications will be approved. Reports are to be filed electronically through the registered application account login.
If the funds can’t be used for the specified purpose, the amount in full must be refunded to the foundation.
